A hen called Victoria fell off a truck on her way to slaughter in Stellenbosch. A family found her, took her home, and she now rules their garden with the quiet authority of someone who has been given a second chance and fully intends to use it.
Cape Town's events calendar threw 983 permitted events last year, pulled in 4.1 million people, and generated more than R5 billion for the local economy.
