Hey {{first_name | Brew}}

Spring Day had the seniors out at Boulders Beach this week, and Checkers has quietly brought back a chocolate bar plenty of us thought was gone for good.

There's a full weekend ahead too, from a single release party on Thursday to Cirque du Rave taking over District Six on Saturday, plus two brand new openings worth getting to early.

Just watch the road closures if you're anywhere near the Atlantic Seaboard this weekend.

Here's what's brewing.

A word from our sponsor:

2 minutes. Your URL. A customer profile worth using.

Most founders can describe their product. They can't describe their customer. Not in a way that actually changes how they sell.

HubSpot for Startups built a free tool to fix that. Paste in your URL, answer a few quick questions, and it generates a structured profile of your best-fit customer. Firmographics, buying triggers, the works.

Takes 2 minutes. No spreadsheet required.

Spring Day sent a busload of penguins' biggest fans out to Boulders Beach this week, where the Forever Young Seniors Club spent their morning nose to beak with the colony, thoroughly delighted and in no hurry to leave. Some of the best mornings in this city still cost nothing more than a short drive to Simon's Town.

Checkers has quietly brought back Nestlé's Caravan chocolate bar, years after it vanished from South African shelves. It's only a special-edition run though, so grab the caramel, wafer and milk chocolate combo while it lasts.

Heads up if you're driving on the Atlantic Seaboard this weekend, more than 21,000 runners hit the streets for the OUTsurance Gun Run, with road closures across Green Point, Sea Point, Camps Bay and Clifton. Some restrictions kick in as early as 3am on Saturday, so check the route before you plan your weekend drives.

Rose Cottage Café is the new bakery worth the detour to Harfield Village, all roses and pink walls, with a pastry counter that makes the queue worthwhile.

Billy Boys Pizzeria & Spritz Bar opens today at 303 Main Road, Sea Point, with free Aperol spritzes and pizza slices while they last from 6pm. Get there early.

New York Bagels Cape Town on Harrington Street in District Six is turning out traditional hand-made, boiled bagels, fresh baked all day with brilliant fillings. Good excuse to swing by on your next errands run.

Fact of the Day

The Cape Town Cycle Tour, born out of a 1977 protest ride for better bicycle paths, is now the largest individually timed cycle race in the world, with up to 35,000 riders covering 109km around the peninsula every March.

Stay curious out there, spring is only just getting started.
