The City has launched Maya, an AI concierge to help investors navigate doing business in Cape Town, available 24/7 in eight languages including Afrikaans and isiXhosa. It's part of a wider push, backed by a R120 billion decade-long infrastructure plan, to sell the city as more than just a holiday spot. Through its investment programme, the City says it's already facilitated just under R16 billion in new investment this past financial year.

A coach's determination to protect his hometown club has turned into something bigger, Clifton and Macassar Surf Lifesaving Clubs building each other up across 51km of coastline since 2023. Five Macassar members have qualified as lifeguards through Clifton's programme, one's gone on to train over 70 more himself, and this year the two clubs field roughly 80 athletes together at the Lifesaving World Championships on home soil.

Vergelegen's camellia garden is in full bloom until the end of September, Africa's only International Camellia Garden of Excellence, with over 1,000 shrubs including two towering trees in the Octagonal Garden dating back to the 1920s. Culture Newlands has opened on Kildare Road with over 50 wines by the glass, mostly South African, curated after the team actually asked the neighbourhood what they wanted to drink. Rose's Table in District Six went from a twice-a-month pop-up to a permanent 26-seat spot, African roots with Asian influences, inspired by the chef's mother.
