It took seventeen days and one seal who simply strolled up the stairs on day sixteen, but four Cape fur seals trapped inside Sturrock Dry Dock are back in the harbour where they belong. The marine team waited them out one at a time, net in hand. Cape Town's seals: dramatic, slippery, ultimately fine.
Cape Town is on track for a second international airport, with the R8-10 billion Cape Winelands Airport near Durbanville set to break ground this year. The 450-hectare development includes a 3.5km runway, cargo facilities and a hotel precinct, expected to support over 100,000 jobs in its first 20 years and open by 2028.
