A dog chased a tahr down Table Mountain on Thursday night and found out, about 80 metres below the Pipe Track, that goats do not need chasing. The pup was stranded on a narrow ledge until a rescuer was lowered on ropes and hoisted it up in a bag. The tahr, naturally, got away.

In Langa, a bus now doubles as a computer lab. The Vusa Rugby and Learning Academy's new DigiBus carries 44 laptops to five primary schools, reaching about 1,300 learners a week. For some, it is a first go on a computer.

South African swimmer Pieter Coetze has just had a remarkable run at the Swimming World Cup. In two nights at the final stop he won both the 100m and 200m backstroke, completing a Triple Crown in each, with a personal best 1:48.08 in the 200m. The 22-year-old also broke the 50m backstroke world record earlier in the series, the first by a South African man in the pool since Chad le Clos in 2016.

Fact of the Day

Cleopatra lived closer in time to the Moon landing than to the building of the Great Pyramid of Giza, which was already about 2,500 years old when she was born.

That's your sip, Brews. Pack a layer and keep an eye on the goats.
