Five sea turtles rehabilitated by the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation have made it home. Bayleaf, Bubbles, Mojo Jojo, Peppa, and Pimento were each rescued along the Western Cape coastline and this week flown to KwaZulu-Natal for release into warmer Indian Ocean waters. Bubbles, a loggerhead, had weighed just 60 grams when found stranded in Struisbaai in 2024. She weighed 7.7 kg on release day. The aquarium team puts it plainly: without the members of the public who make those first phone calls, none of this happens.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in winter is genuinely underrated.
