This Heritage Day video from Street Stylers has South Africans of every background dancing together in the streets, and it's exactly the kind of joyful chaos that's had the internet calling it the best example yet of what makes this country a vibe.

Twenty young African animators just wrapped four months turning sketchbooks into an actual toolkit for making a living, capped by a showcase at the District Six Homecoming Centre. One standout, The Fisherman's Son, is set at Boulders Beach and follows a boy learning courage with a seal's help.

The Falafel Guy in Sea Point is strictly halal Middle Eastern street food done right, fresh pita and sauces made in-house daily, falafel with a proper crunch, and a build-your-own situation that's genuinely dangerous for your willpower. Fresh pita and sauces are also available to take home, plus a new menu (including breakfast) is on the way.

Masala and Chai in Wynberg just restocked butter biscuits, chevda, almond rocca and naan katai, the Indian snack counter locals quietly stock up at on Ottery Road.

Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville is a genuine family win, with a big grassy lawn for the kids to run around, a playground right next to the tables so you can actually relax, and free chocolate tasting to sweeten the deal while you get your wine tasting in.
