Miss Grand South Africa Estèe-Mari Smit brought serious Mzansi flair to her Miss Grand International talent performance, opening to The Lion King's "Nants ingonyama" before launching into a high-energy dance routine while proudly carrying the South African flag.

A33 in the City Centre is part café, part listening room, part co-working space, built for lingering rather than a quick coffee run, with a rotating calendar of music and creative events. Don't leave without trying Sis Faith's dombolo with oxtail or her magwinya with savoury mince.

The Paddock in Observatory has turned a former laundromat, cinema and upholstery workshop into a retail home for Cape Town's independent, female-owned businesses, think handmade leather goods, small-batch fragrances and homeware, with Girl Dinner tucked in the back serving up poke bowls and coffee.

Bare in the City Centre is a minimalist brunch spot with moody lighting, mimosas and bloody Marys on tap, and elevated dishes like fish and chips with lime aioli, but the real move is the boozy custard French toast with a hint of sherry.
