Hey {{first_name | Brew}}

Happy Monday, Brews. A Wynberg Boys’ High pet food drive, a very cheeky Proteas Test pitch invader and a 33-7 Stormers win set the tone for the week. There’s jazz in Kalk Bay, two markets on one Saturday and koesisters on Sunday to plan around.

Today’s Brew is poured. First, a word from the people who keep it free:

The boys of Wynberg Boys' High spent Term 3 on some unusual homework, and it ended with more than 230kg of pet food handed to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA. Learners, teachers and families all chipped in bags for the dogs and cats waiting on a home. A very good way to start a Monday.

The Proteas wrapped up their Test against Australia at Newlands, and one young fan decided the celebrations were his too. A clip doing the rounds shows the kid dodging security after he ran onto the field and grabbed a stump as a keepsake. Security gave chase, and the video has had South Africans arguing about it online ever since.

The Stormers beat Ulster 33-7 at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday for a fourth straight bonus-point win, and young flyhalf Yaqeen Ahmed ran the show. He collected 13 points, including a try, and a well-judged cross-kick set up Ruhan Nel in the corner.

Fact of the day
Did you know?

The Anglo-Zanzibar War of 27 August 1896 is usually recorded as the shortest war in history, lasting somewhere between 38 and 45 minutes.

That's your sip, Brews. Hope your Monday goes more like 33-7.
