A hundred rescue dogs marched for World Animal Day, South Africa quietly switched on its Digital ID, and the Cape found a flower nobody had ever seen near Stellenbosch.

There's a rapper takeover, a rising-jazz night, and a speakeasy dinner where the soundtrack is the menu on this weekend's list, plus a ramen bar worth hunting down off Harrington Street.

Here's what's brewing.

Fact of the Day

Cape Town's Company's Garden began in 1652 as a vegetable patch for the Dutch East India Company, feeding passing ships long before it became a park. Its Saffraan pear tree is believed to be South Africa's oldest cultivated tree.

That's your sip, Brews. Go cheer on a rescue banner.
