Hey {{first_name | Brew}}

Kites are taking over Youngsfield this month for Cape Mental Health, Fish Hoek's beloved beach chalkboard just got a new lease on life, and South Africa's bakers raised over two million rand for kids with cancer without even trying that hard.

There's a free village market a short drive up the coast today, an old Afrikaans ghost story at the Baxter, and the Stormers taking on the Sharks if you want something louder.

Plus a new cookie shop in Claremont and a sushi conveyor belt that one brave soul emptied almost single handedly.

Here's what's brewing.

Good Dough is Claremont's newest cookie shop, a fresh spot in the southern suburbs for anyone chasing a sweet treat.

Aiko Sushi at Riverlands Mall has sushi gliding past on a flowing water conveyor for R299 all-you-can-eat, with fresh, not-too-saucy rolls that one self-declared sushi connoisseur put away 48 pieces of in one sitting.

Shani's Bakery in Schotsche Kloof, on the edge of Bo-Kaap, turns out fresh bread and pastries for the neighbourhood, no fuss, just a five-star reputation built one loaf at a time.

Fact of the Day

Table Mountain alone carries around 1500 plant species, roughly as many as grow across the whole of the United Kingdom.
